For the Young at Heart

The Northern California Pirate Festival may be the playground of maritime music fans, living history re-enactors and foodies enjoying micro brews and fresh fish and chips, but in Vallejo each Fathers Day Weekend, children are also invited to join over 30,000 visitors for cannon battles, costume contests, and treasure hunts.  This year the 9th annual Northern California Pirate Festival offers a treasure trove of entertainment and activities for younger pirates.

Meet the sirens of the sea, the mythical mermaids, captured by the pirates and now swimming in their own lagoon. Perhaps one will let you touch her silvery tail!
Join Stubby Wood and Mister Mac for a parade to the Treasure Island Kid’s Stage for a costume contest at 3pm where every young pirate wins a bit o’ pirate booty.  Each day beginning at 2:45PM from the front gate.
Learn the skills and customs of all swashbucklers to scallywags at the Schoole of Piracy From navigating by the stars to swabbing the decks, each “graduate” will be ready for a life of piracy on the high seas.  Throughout the day from 10AM to 6PM next to the Kid’s Stage.
Beware of the Pirates of Emerson!  These ghoulish pirates will test the courage and concentration of all young seamen as they walk the streets looking for young recruits to board their ghostly ship.
Practice Yer Boarding Technique by trying the Zipline of Insanity or sliding down the giant Kraken, a 30’ slide of an octopus devouring a ship.  Other one of a kind games and activities include “Cat-A-Pults vs. Pi-Rats,” Crossbows, and “Monkey Cannons.” Various prices. Located throughout the festival.
Witness swordfights, black powder cannons and antique firearms before cheering for your favorite pirate in one of the ship to shore cannon battles  Times available soon.
Sing along with Mister Mac  on the Kid’s Stage, or learn a sea shanty and how to tie a reef knot from The Seadogs. See map boards at front gates and stages for times and locations.
Receive a pardon from the British Government House if you forswear your corrupt life of piracy!
